System of JA Group's Supplying Business

JA Group's supplying business aims to provide member farmers with safe and high-quality commodities necessary for their agricultural production and daily lives at low prices through jointly purchasing them in large quantities mostly under advance-order system.

In order to achieve this aim, the JA Group has been efficiently operating its supply business through its three tiered system of JAs, prefectural economic federations of agricultural cooperatives and ZEN-NOH (National Federation of Agricultural Co-operative Associations), which have played their roles and functions at the respective level. However, this three-tiered system is now being transformed into the two-tiered one in correspondence with the progress of JA mergers. As of February, 2005, 36 prefectural federations of agricultural cooperatives have been integrated into ZEN-NOH in order to adjust themselves with the structural changes of JAs.
