JAs' Supplying Business of Production Inputs


The commodities handled in the JA's supplying business are divided into two categories of production inputs and daily necessaries. In the fiscal year 2002, the national total of JAs' supplying turnover of production inputs amounted 2,490 billion yen.

The major commodities handled in JAs' supplying business was petroleum (602 billion yen), followed by feed (367 billion yen), fertilizers (310 billion yen), and farm machines (284 billion yen). In the fiscal year 1985, the major commodities were feed, followed by petroleum, fertilizers, farm machinery, and pesticides. The most important commodity handled in JAs' supplying business shifted from feed to petroleum during these years.

In the fiscal year 2002, primary level JAs supplied 10.65 million kilo litters of petroleum, which was equivalent to 53% of 20.13 million kilo litters that was the total petroleum demand in rural areas. It meant that JAs supplied 6.6% of aggregate domestic demand for petroleum. JA Group operates immobile gService Stationsh at 4,646 places all over the country and that corresponds to 11.0% of all filling stations (immobile type) operating at 51,294 places in the country.
