JAs' Supplying Business of Daily Necessities

JAs' supplying business turnover of daily necessities amounted 1,309 billion yen in the fiscal year 2002.

The major commodities handled in JAs' supplying business of daily necessities were general foods (296 billion yen), followed by perishable foods (232 billion yen) and fuels for home use (203 billion yen), and daily health and miscellaneous goods (114 billion yen).

The aggregate turnover of daily necessities represents decline over a decade of 38% or 810.0 billion yen compared to the figure of 1992.

In particular, turnover almost halved for rice, perishable foods and general food items suggesting that, as observed in the increased purchasing of rice at convenient stores etc., routes of purchasing daily merchandise such as rice are getting more diverse and alternating in rural areas as well.
